HULA AND POLYNESIAN DANCE:
The style of hula & Polynesian dances are taught in their form as passed down through generations and teachings. This class teaches basic steps for hula kahiko (ancient), hula 'auana (modern hula) & tahitian dances with emphasis on expressions, emotions, interpretations & significance.
TAHITIAN:
Students will also be introduced to basic tahitian steps, movements and receive information on other dances of Polynesia and how they are interrelated as cultures of the South Pacific. Hula/Tahitian dancing is great physical exercise, yet allows all levels to participate. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring a sarong or wrap to tie around the waist/hips.
